Priming your lids will prevent shadow from creasing. Your look will also last from day to night since most of us don't want to waste a minute retouching our makeup during our priceless summer days. Try NEW! NYC New York Color's InvidualEyes Custom Compact for great, color coordinated palettes that include a primer AND highlighter! Blending is key when using multiple shades of shadow. Apply your base shade all over lid and then layer darker, contouring shades over the crease and corners to create depth for a smooth, seamless look. Skip the eyeliner all together and line your eyes with the darkest shade for a smudge-free finish.
Avoid using cream liners as they smudge easier, especially in the warmer weather. Pencils are a better choice—water proof pencils like NYC New York Color Waterproof Eyeliner if your liner tends to run. Before applying liner, dip a Q-tip in translucent powder and drag along the lash line to absorb any oil that could cause liner to smear.
Make sure to always apply a highlighter to the browbone and inner corner of the eyes. Use a light silver for cool skin tones and a light gold for warmer skin tones. This really brightens up the face and can even make the most minimal makeup look glamorous.
